I learned to appreciate, greatly, Alden's quiet ways. He was gentle and polite and never talked about people. In short, I guess, he had nothing to prove and had no need to do anything but "live and let live". He had requests, but if they couldn't be met, would simply say, "Oh,- Oh, that's OK". He always consented to give money to bail out one of us, when necessary. He loved to watch the financial news, would spend hours watching the TV programs on stocks/bonds and other economic issues. He'll be greatly missed . . .
