Helen Magdalyn Crothers of Lodi passed away on July 26, 2005 in Lodi at the age of 67. Mrs. Crothers was born in Houston, Texas on April 24, 1938 to William Peter and Helen Alzeda Hechler. Helen graduated from Modesto High School in 1956, attended San Joaquin Delta College and graduated in 1994. She went on to St. Mary's College in Moraga, California, graduating on December 7, 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was a Social Worker for San Joaquin County and Calaveras County for 14 years. She loved scrapbooking, singing and music. She loved to go to Tahoe, being with her family, golf, and their cabin in Arnold that she truly loved. She was a member of the Women of the Moose in Arnold, president of Stockton Women's Aglow, member of the Women's Aglow Board. Helen was a previous member of West Lane Foursquare Church in Stockton; also Lakeview Assembly of Stockton; previous member of Faith Fellowship in Lodi; Oak Circle, Chapel in the Pines, and Cornerstone Foursquare Church, all in Arnold. She was presently a member of Westside Assembly in Lodi. Helen is survived by her husband, Thomas Crothers; children, Jeff (wife, Janna) Crothers, Marci (husband, Jeff) Montero and Melissa (husband, Jimmy) Bell; grandkids, Jacob, Brandon, Andrew, Chad, Hunter and Hailey; and mother, Helen (husband, Ross) Madrid. She was preceded in death by her father, William Hechler, sister, Diane Taliaferro and step-father, Clarence Singer. A celebration of Helen's life will be held at Westside Assembly on Wednesday at 10:00 AM with Pastor Chan Keith officiating. Committal will be private. Visitation will begin on Monday at 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM, continuing Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Lodi Funeral Home.
