It's still hard to believe Eric is gone. This is the man who would voluntarily watch my car when I was out of town, who would hurry to open the gate for me when I had my hands full -- even when he'd just had shoulder surgery. He made friends with everyone, and he never put himself above others. Michelle, I think he's glad to know that you were strong enough to speak at the service, and that your words held such power. My thoughts are with all of Eric's family and friends.

Michelle, I only met Eric a handful of times, but I knew him well through his friendship with Justin and through our son Dylan's fondness of him. I think you are so strong and I hope in time the hole left by Eric's departure will get smaller. My heart goes out to you and all of Eric's friends.

The shock, the ability to understand why someone so young is gone one day. We know Eric from Chase Chevrolet and a business relationship that was formed when we owned a Chevy diesel pickup. Eric knows our business in Stockton and would make regular refferals to his customers to us. He knew his mechanics! The man was well trained, he enjoyed what he did and he was a wonderful resource when anyone needed to know something. He had many interests and was always happy to share those interests and/or the stories that went along with the things he did. Even though he was just a business acquitance to us he was so likeable we considered Eric a friend. Our thoughts go out to the people who will miss him deeply...his family and very close friends. Anne and Mike

I am devastated to hear this news. My husband and I knew Eric from Chase. He was the best mechanic that they had, in our eyes. He answered all our questions that we ever had. He came to our house to look at our classic car, as he liked muscle cars. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family. We all have lost a wonderful person!!

Michelle I had no idea this happened, I saw this while looking for someone elses funeral arrangements. I am so sorry! I know your loss is great and my heart aches for you. I never knew anyone who loved like the two of you. Be thankful for the time you had, you shared more love in your short time together than most people do in a life time. Please know I value our friendship, I love you! It is sad how we lost touch. Lets get together soon!

Dear Michelle, I am so saddened. My heart aches for you, for Justin, for myself and any and all people that Eric knew. He was a man of men. He was true to his word. He was somebody that everyone instantly liked, if not loved. He was always welcome at my home, he brought a cheer to my heart just having him hang around my son Justin. He would spend time with my younger son, Joseph, trying to get him to take pride in the truck that he was to restore, along with Erics help and advice. Eric was a role model for honesty and pride. He was a giver, a giver of himself and his time. Eric cared. I am so so sorry that Eric never knew how much I thought of him. If I had any idea his time was to be so short, I would have looked him in the eye and told him how important he was to all of us. How much his friendship to Justin meant to me. There will not be a day that goes by for the rest of my life that I will not think of this wonderful man, and how he touched our lives. I just hope he knew somehow how much his friendship meant. Never do I want to take a friendship of someone truely special for granted. This has been a very hard lesson. I will now tell my special friends how much they mean to me, in case the day comes that I can't. Michelle, you had the love of this man for 5 years, I hope your memories of him will get you through the sorrow and loss and at least feel grateful that you were lucky to have him in your life. Eric touched many lives and I hope somehow we can touch yours by returning the friendship that Eric showed to us. Forever in my thoughts, Joann.

What can one say, exept, "What? Why?" Truly a shock when someone so young is gone so quickly. We met Eric through Michelle, she and I went through massage school together. Eric helped us with our cars on more than one occasion and has to be one of the most genuine and loyal people we know. Michelle, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. Please, if you need anything, please call. Much Love, Steev & Traci

I met Eric and Michelle about six years ago in the parking lot of their apartment complex. I worked next door in the police detective's annex. I was very impressed with Eric and tried to recruit him for police service. I'm sure his military experience with the United States Marines in Desert Storm could have been used on the streets of Lodi. Eric always seemed to have great enthusiasm about family, life, and career. I ran into him a few weeks ago at Lowe's. He was going to help some friends building a fence (or at leat watch and supervise !!). I was shocked and saddened when I saw the obituary. For the family: The grieving process for Eric will take years to pass. Keep his memory close.
