Obituary of Anneliese "Ann" Bivins

Anneliese (Ann) Bivins of Lodi passed away unexpectedly in Hawaii on June 27, 2006 at the age of 79. She was born May 30, 1927 in Fritzlar, Germany. She married Thomas O. (Tom) Bivins in Germany and came to the U.S. in 1950. She became an American Citizen in 1952. Ann traveled to many areas of the World and United States with her husband when he was in the U.S. Army. They lived in Texas, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Tokyo, Japan, Ft. Ord, Monterey, CA and Dinuba (Tulare County) before moving to Lodi in 1970. She was a housewife, but did work outside the home in drapery shops and clothing stores. Her hobbies were sewing and crafts. She was a member of the Lodi Wednesday Club since 1971 and was president in 1977. She was also a member of the United Congregational Christian Church where she was active in the New Horizon Circle. She is survived by her husband, Tom Bivins of Lodi, a daughter, Carol A. Burns of Stockton, a son, Richard O. Bivins of Lakewood, CA, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, a brother, Willi Kepper of Hamberg, Germany, a sister, Leni Arnoldt of Kassel, Germany, two nieces and one nephew of Germany. Friends are invited to visit Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until noon. A chapel service will be held at 12:00 noon on Sunday at Lodi Funeral Home with Reverend Jack Dawson of United Congregational Christian Church officiating. Committal will immediately follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.
