Obituary of James Gordon McDonald

Mr. James Gordon McDonald of Lodi, formerly of the Bay Area, passed away in Lodi on September 15, 2006 at the age of 73. Mr. McDonald was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 20, 1933. He entered the U.S. Army as a very young man, and served in both Korea and Viet Nam. He traveled and was stationed in different parts of the U.S. as he raised his family, settling first in Millbrae and then San Bruno. He earned a B.S. degree in computer science and worked for the Federal Government designing software, and working in computer management. Mr. McDonald retired twice, and then continued to work for the government on contract. He loved to read and help people. He is survived by his son, Marty and daughter-in-law, Linda McDonald of Lodi; two grandchildren, James McDonald and Erin, husband, Asher, Samueljan; grandson, Dorian Samueljan; four brothers, Eugene, Jerome, Richard, and Patrick McDonald and three sisters, Audrey Hartman, Dorthey Nix, Marie Bishop and Theresa Lee. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan McDonald and second wife, Sophie McDonald. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Lodi Funeral Home on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. to celebrate James' life. There is no visitation, and committal is private. Memorial remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lodi Unit, 207 East Alpine Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204.
