Ms. Miriam Helen Oswald of Lodi passed away in Lodi at the age of 90 on November 21, 2006. Ms. Oswald was born in Java, South Dakota on June 6, 1916 to Pastor E.H. and Helen K. Oswald. All of her adult life she worked as a secretary and receptionist in doctors' offices, first for a group of five orthopedic specialists in Los Angeles. She moved to Lodi in 1960. She then worked for Dr. Leiske in Lodi and retired from Dr. Elmer Necker's office, after 21 years of employment. She enjoyed helping the patients. She enjoyed her friends, knitting, music and was a great lover of animals. She was a long-time member of the English Oaks Seventh-day Adventist Church. Ms. Oswald is survived by four step-sons, whom she loved as her own, Bob, John, Joe and Paul Takhar, all of Stockton; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; her dear cousin, Marguerite D. Scott of Vista, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pastor E. H. and Helen K. Oswald and her brother, Dr. Aaron E. Oswald. Friends are invited to visit Sunday from 9:00 a.m.until 6:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial remembrances may be made to the English Oaks Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1260 W. Century Boulevard, Lodi, CA 95240.
