Miriam was a wonderful, dear person. I came to know her when I learned that her brother died saving my father during WWII. She missed him terribly, and it was a good feeling for her, I think, to know that he didn't die in vain; that he had saved a man that gave four wonderful children to the world. We visited when we could, which wasn't often enough, but she was a joy and never complained that we didn't come more often. Miriam always had positive things to say and her sunshiny view always made me smile. The baby blanket she knit for my daughter, who is now 16, looks like the day she gave it to us. This is remarkable, since Kelsey still wraps herself tightly in it each night. Such amazing handiwork. She will be missed very much by our family.
