Reinhart "Heinie" Heinitz of Lodi, passed away in Lodi on November 24, 2006 at the age of 97. Mr. Heinitz was born in Lodi, California on March 22, 1909 to Jacob and Amelia Heinitz. After his graduation from high school, he went to work for Bank of America, which was then called the United Security Bank and Trust Company. He worked for Bank of America in Lodi for nearly 43 years, retiring as bank manager in 1971. He was very involved in the community for many years. Earlier in his life, he was a bird game hunter. He was an avid fisherman, and spent his time fishing or being with his family. He was a life member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. Mr. Heinitz is survived by his son, Rinehart (Mairlyn) Heinitz of Ione; four grandchildren, Penny ( Robert) Gardiner, Eric (Lisa) Heinitz, Toby (David) Koehler and Christine (Jerome) Marucci; five great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Evan, Rachel, Alex and Camillo; daughter-in-law, Karen Heinitz of San Jose and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Heinitz in 1982; two sons, Vernon and James Heinitz; three sisters, Amelia Weber, Mary Kealm and Alvina Martin and three brothers, Jacob, Alex and Edward Heinitz. Friends are invited to visit Wednesday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at Lodi Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Eugene Davidenas of Jackson Lutheran Church, LCMS. Memorial remembrances may be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Avenue, 95204-1953.
