It was my pleasure to be Heinie's caregiver for this past year. He was always smiling and happy to just be sitting outside and visiting with his dear friend, Jackie, and "Dundee" the cat, smoking his pipe and listening to music. He never missed a day unless weather didn't permit it. I enjoyed talking to him and listening to the stories of his past. I learned a lot from listening to him. He was a very sweet and uncomplicated man, not requiring much out of life to make him happy. He really enjoyed going fishing with his son, Sonny, when he was still able. I will miss him a lot. Rest in Peace. Sue L

Uncle Reinhart was always interested in what was happening with myself and my family. He cared about family and loved get togethers back when his children and my sister Barbara (or Babs, as he called her) and I were still home and getting together was a noisy, fun time. Even after not seeing me for months, Uncle Reinhart would greet me by name with a twinkle in his eye and stories about the rest of the family, particularly his great grandchildren. I will miss him.

Heine will be very much missed in our lives. My daughter Madison Gwynne Rivero, age 6 thought of Heinie like a grandfather. She will always remember him with love, his full attention towards her and a gift of chocolate on a weekly basis. Heinie loved to talk to us about the good ole' days and how life has changed so much. Our favorite quote of his in recent years was, "It does'nt pay to grow old" We will miss you a whole bunch, our dear Heine! All our love and prayers to the family, including Jackie (my mother) who Heinie always thought of as the daughter he never had. Cynthia, Eric and Madison Rivero

Heinie was my mom's (Jackie) wonderful neighbor. I didn't know Heinie real well but what I did know of him was he was a very special friend to my mom. He brought alot of joy to her life and he will be greatly missed by her and other members of my family. He lived a long great life and I know now he is with God and Jesus. Our prayers are with Heinie's family and friends at this time. God Bless, Jeannine & family

Heinie, I will always remember you. You hired me right out of high school and I loved banking so much I went on to spend 30+ years at it, and always tried to follow your example. I also went to school with Reinhart and Marilyn and knew Evelyn from St. Peters back in the 40's and 50's. Then in the 50's I married another employee that you hired, Jerry Gundert. I asked about you many times from my friends and family in Lodi. You are now receiving the great reward of being in Heaven with our Savior and your loved ones. Rest in Peace. In Christian Love, Jo Ellen

Mr. Heinitz was my neighbor for the first 18 years of my life at 700 West Locust St. He would tell me, "I remember the day you came home from the hospital". Vernon and I were one week difference in age. Mr. Heinitz was my bubby's father and I never could call him Heinie even in the later years. I got to know Mr. Heinitz more the last 4 or 5 years. I tried to visit him once a week when I came to Lodi to see my dad. He like to talk old times and I liked to listen. We talked about the walnut tree in the back yard and he would be cracking walnuts for family and friends when I would visit. I told him I remembered when he planted the walnut tree and he would tell me about Alan Pope, a neighbor, telling him it would not produce walnuts and he would laugh. We smoked our pipes together and he even gave me one of his pipes about a year ago. The last time I saw him was two weeks before he passed, he was standing outside the front of his home in the sun. We hugged hello, we talked,we hugged goodbye. I loved this gentle man that was always positive and greated me with a smile. I'm going to miss you Mr. Heinitz and our visits. You were my friend.

I would like to say that "Heinie " was the greatest boss I ever had. I loved him the first day I went to work for him . He always was gentle with me, and appreciated it when I did a good job. He was very efficient and I tried to be like that. I will remember him always. He called me "LeeLee" , hence my middle name. I loved him always. Love, Elsie "Lee" Will

This is the hardest obituarie I'v ever had to write. Heine was my best friend and neighbor for 20 years, he was like a father to me. We had a unconditiional love for each other. When ever someone came over and I was there, he would say I never had a daughter, so I adopted Jackie, he was so sweet. We use to walk together, and of course he would tell all about his wife and family, I felt like I knew them too with all the stories. He loved his fishing, and would always bring trout home for me, and he cracked all the walnuts every year in Oct. This is the first year we didn't get any walnuts, the tree must of know that Heine was going to go to Heaven. He was so kind to people and children, He loved my grandaughter, Madison, she would go over his house every Wednesday and sit at his table and color with him, Of course he would always give her candy. The day I left for vacation was the night he went into the hospital, I kissed him goodby and said I would call him everyday, he said,"Don't forget me", Heine I will never forget you, I love you, and he said he loved me too. I know he was 97 years old and ready to go, but my heart aches for him. I will miss him forever. Until I see you again in Heaven, Rest in Peace my friend, my adoped father. I love you.
