Dear Robert, Pam, Jenna, Erika, Hanna and the Kimmels: As I sit here trying to find just the right words to lessen your pain right now, I realize that there are no words I can say to comfort you at this time. Please just know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I was always impressed with what a close and loving family you all are and you are lucky to have each other. I do have a few memories of your mom that I would like to share. First, a few years ago when I had Jenna in Language Arts and I was pregnant with Taylor, I got a really bad case of something bronchial. I ended up not having a voice for over six weeks (I'm sure my students loved that!) Patty would bring to me every morning a packet of a herbal tea and make me drink it because she knew it was safe for the baby. I would drink it and be able to talk for a little bit, but by the end of the day I would have no voice again. She would check in with me everyday at the end of 7th period and if I couldn't talk, she would bring me the tea the next morning. That was just the kind of person Patty was...always caring for others. The next story is actually making me laugh through the tears as I think about it. During one of my last years at Houston, there was a problem with some students maybe smoking in the bathroom near my classroom at lunch. Patty and I were on a mission to catch these "criminals". So, one day during lunch I heard voices behind my portable. It was a day kind of like today. There was a lot of water on the ground from rain the day before. Well, I left my classroom and snuck all the way around the school to get Patty in the cafeteria. Her and I snuck onto the ramp of my portable where we continued to hear the voice(s). So, in true "Cagney and Lacey" form, we each went one way around the portable to catch whoever back there doing whatever they weren't supposed to be doing. Guess who we found as we snuck up on the "suspects"? It was Case! He was rounding up worms and herding them back to the grass! We told Case what we were doing and how we thought he was a "bad guy" and the three of us just giggled for a long time. After that day, we joked that our next career was definitely with the FBI! It wasn't long after that that I got one of Jenna's bunnies. I remember saying, "Patty, my husband is not going to be real happy with me if I bring home another animal!" She just said, "Husbands love rabbits!" as she brought the cage and everything a bunny needs into my classroom. She knew that once I saw the bunny there was no way I wouldn't take it home! Your mom was a great person and I have great memories of her. As a teacher, your family is one of those that you will never forget because they are just special. Your love for each other was always obvious and I pray that you find peace in each other now and always. God bless you! Jennifer Willis (Taylor/Kramer)

Robert, Pam, Jenna, Erica, Hanna, we love you all and wish we could ease your pain. Your mother was a very special person, who I thought of as a sister more than a friend. I also loved her very much. I know for a fact that you all have some wonderful memories that you will be able to think back on once the hurting eases. To Ken, Dana, Pam & Troy and your families our thoughts are with you also. Through making friends with Patty I was able to become friends with all of you and that is a great blessing to me. I also have many GREAT memories that I will cherish. We love you all.

Patty was the best friend anyone could ask for. We could talk about anything and everything, and laugh while doing it. The love and respect that she shared with her family was beautiful to see. I felt privileged to even share a small part of her life. Thank you so much to Robert, Pamela, Jenna, Erica and Hanna for sharing her with the rest of us. We love you all.

We used to live next door to Robert, Patty and the girls on Donner dr. I remember Patty (tried) to teach me how to cook, we made crafts together,we babysat eachothers kids. I remember going to the snow with them and having a great time. What I will remember most about her is how much she loved her family and how important they were to her. She will be missed by more people than you will ever know, she was truly a special person.

We are all thinking about you I know you have some wonderful memories of your mom and one day they will bring you more smiles than tears. Here is a poem that has brought me some comfort as I hope it does you. THE BROKEN CHAIN We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you. You did not go alone, for part of us went With you the day God called you home. You left the peaceful memories. Your love is still our guide. And though we cannot see you. You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the Chain will link again.

Dear Greenmyer Family, Long time ago when Hanna and Jenae were in T-ball together, I knew at once that Patty was a mom that I wanted to be like. She had her four girls surrounding her and what is more important, the girls wanted to be there. It was wonderful to see how this family was a whole unit not scattered like so many families become as their children have grown and matured. Patty knew what she wanted for you girls. As we went to Catalina last year, she had me call her, knowing that Erika would be alright but just like a mom who goes into a bedroom to make sure her children are covered, she wanted to make sure that Erika was covered for her diabetes. Girls, feel your mom's love like a blanket. It is there warming your heart and comforting you as you sleep, as you wake, all of your times in your lives. Sometimes on rainy dark difficult nights or days, we like to snuggle beneath our blankets. You can do that under your blanket of your mom. Remember though that she probably had you make your beds in the morning. There will be a new day to face and she would expect you to do that. She-her blanket of love will still be there as a safe place for you. As your family and friends come around you, always remember that we can be extensions and help in little or big ways. We all love you.

Dear Robert & Family, My heartfelt sympathy at your loss of Patty. I will forever remember her with fondness ~ The summer swim-fests in our backyard and boating out of "Herman & Helen's" seem as if they could have been yesterday! Know that Patty's beautiful smile still warms my heart as I remember her. I will pray that while she rests in the arms of Jesus that each of you feels the peace and strength of the Lord in your hearts. God's Blessings on you all, Kristy
