Obituary of Michiye Yenokida

Michiye (Mich) Yenokida was born in Shelton, WA, September 17, 1924 to Shoemon and Hatsuno Shintani. She grew up and attended schools in Poulsbo, WA. She was married to Menoru Yenokida for 51 years and worked side by side with him as he farmed in the San Joaquin-Sacramento Valley areas. Mich was a homemaker until hired to be the librarian at Galt High School from 1968 to 1996. She resided at Fairmont Rehabilitation Hospital for the past several years and passed away on March 3, 2007. Michiye is survived by her sister, Yoshiye Iwamura, brother, Kazumi Shintani, sister-in-law, Sue Shintani and brother-in-law, Susumu Yenokida. She is also survived by her five children: Dr. Gordon Yenokida (Michou), Brian Yenokida (Sachi), Lloyd Yenokida, Janice Ono (Keith) and Sue Ann Kashiwagi (Kerry); eight grandchildren; Trenton (Erika), Emerson, Cameron, Utaro, Adam, Damon and Stacy Ono and Zachary Jann; and three great-grandchildren; Brennen, Sydney and Gabriel. Friends are welcome for visitation on Friday, March 9th, 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Avenue, Lodi, CA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10th at 12:00 noon at the Buddhist Church of Lodi, 23 North Stockton St., Lodi, CA.
