Obituary of Joseph Brian Souza

Mr. Joseph Brian Souza of Acampo and former resident of Lodi passed away unexpectedly Saturday March 17, 2007 in Galt. Mr. Souza was born October 8, 1972 in Lodi, California to Rick and Sharon Souza. Brian worked as an Architectural Draftsman for Aerie Inc. as well as Valley Iron Works both in Lodi. He attended Century Christian Schools thru eighth grade, Brookside Christian High School and graduated from Tokay High School Class of 1990. Brian was a long time member of Century Assembly of God Church, where he participated in the Royal Rangers Program and earned the Royal Ranger Gold Medal of Achievement Award in 1987. He was a former United States Marine Corp Reservist. Brian was a dedicated father and cherished the time spent with family and friends, especially his beloved children. He will be best remembered as a loving and devoted father, son, brother, grandson and true friend. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his beloved children, Joshua, Jacob, Haleigh and David Souza; parents, Rev. Rick and Sharon Souza of Lodi; sisters, Mindy Grant and husband Corey of Maple Valley, Washington; Deanne Barth and husband Justin of Lodi; grandparents, Alfred and Wanda Souza of Galt; a niece, Katelyn Barth of Lodi and a nephew Jayden Grant of Maple Valley, WA; numerous aunts, uncle and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oscar Whiteley, William Wells and Mary Louise Wells. A church service will be held Thursday March 29, 2007, 1:00pm at the Century Assembly of God Church, followed by interment at the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery.
