Ida was my dear, dear friend who I've missed since she moved from Gunnison. Everytime we spoke or ran into each other around town, it was a blessing to me and hopefully to Ida. She worked so hard and had so many difficulties that she seemed to overcome through her faith and positive attitude. She was an inspiration to me each time we met. Our last visit was in the waiting room at the doctor's office where we shared our love for one another. I will truly miss her and she will be in my thoughts and prayers - as are you who are reading this. I send my love to all of Ida's family, Marie Spencer

Ida was my neighbor for the past 18 years, I lived at the top of the hill and Ida lived at the bottom of the hill. We met when I was doing a lot of walking when I first moved to Gunnison and always passed her home. I will miss seeing her and talking to her very much. She always made me laugh and my only regret is that we didn't get to know each other much better.

I helped Ida to attend her high school reunion in Beaumont, TX. I would see her occasionally in Gunnison. I felt that she was an outstanding person. When I found out she wanted to go to her high school reunion, I assisted her in doing that. When she came back, she showed me pictures and told me about it. I had a lot of admiration for Ida because of all the setbacks she experienced and the way she helped others even though she herself had little help at times. I called her "Mrs. Job" sometimes. I am very sorry she had so many health problems and had such a hard life. She was an angel in disguise. I am grateful that I knew her. Jeanne Hull
