Obituary of Ronald Dean "Ron" Hanlon

Mr. Ronald "Ron" Dean Hanlon of Galt and former resident of Armona, California passed away surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday June 17, 2007 in a Lodi hospital at the age of 60. Ron. Hanlon was born in Hanford, California to James and Betty Hanlon. Ron worked for the City of Stockton Water Treatment and Sanitation Dept. for many years before retiring in 2002; He previously worked for Rancho Seco Nuclear Power Plant in Herald, Beacon Oil Co. in Hanford and Continental Grain Co. in Lemoore. Ron was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lodi and Past Commodore of River View Yacht Club in Freeport, CA. Ron attended and graduated from Hanford High School Class of 1964. He was an avid outdoorsman and boater. He also enjoyed traveling in his motor home and camping with his extended family and friends. If he couldn?t be found camping, he could be found on the Delta Waterways with his boating family on his beloved ?Hanlon?s Haven? or supporting his favorite San Francisco 49er?s and Giants Teams. He will be best remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and true friend with a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Nancy ?Cookie? Hanlon of Galt; a daughter, Rhonda Hickerson and husband Eric of Galt; 2 adored grandchildren, which were the apple of his eye, Eric "Boogie" and Danielle Hickerson of Galt; 1 brother James Hanlon and wife Carol of Armona; a brother in-law Steve Barker and wife Sandra of Sacramento; 2 sister in-law's Judy Klein and husband Neil of Mesa, AZ; Shirley Queener of Roseburg, Oregon; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his long time companion Cocker Spaniel "Scupper". A memorial service will be held Friday June 22, 2007, 1:00 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lodi, California. Arrangements are by the Lodi Funeral Home.
