Obituary of Herman Brosnikoff

Long-time Lodi resident, Herman Brosnikoff entered into the presence of God on Saturday, September 22, 2007; he was 88 years of age. Herman was born to John and Susanna Brosnikoff on April 26, 1919, in Hebron, North Dakota. He was one of six children. The family relocated to Lodi in 1926 where Herman attended local schools. Herman worked for Coca Cola Company of Lodi, Stockton Box Company in Stockton, and served in the United States Army from 1939-1946. During his military service, Herman was assigned to duty in the South Pacific, including New Guinea. Following completion of military service, Herman graduated from the Moler Barber College in Sacramento and returned to Lodi to open his own business, Herman's Barber Shop, on North Church Street. He operated Herman's Barber Shop for forty years before retiring in 1990. He was an active supporter of the Stockton Rescue Mission and served as Chaplain with American Legion Post #22 of Lodi. Herman dedicated his life to Christ in 1955. He touched and enriched the lives of many through his involvement in support of local Christian activities. He is survived by his son, Lonnie (Carol) Brosnikoff of San Jose; three grandsons, David Brosnikoff and Christopher (Nicki) Brosnikoff of Lodi and Luke Brosnikoff of San Diego; two great- grandchildren, Carson and Jadyn and a sister, Annie Allen of Stockton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Brosnikoff. Friends are invited to visit Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Lodi Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Herman's name to Stockton Rescue Mission, 445 S. San Joaquin Street, Stockton, CA 95203.
