Obituary of Jayson Elliot Ingraca
Manteca resident Jayson Ingraca Sr., lovingly known as "Jay", passed away peacefully on Monday, July 22, 2024 Stockton, California. He was born on August 21, 1978 to parents Joni Gilbertson and Jeffrey Ingraca. He was the oldest of 3 children.
Jay grew up in Hayward, California. He attended Treeview elementary, Barnard-White Middle School, and Logan High School. He participated in Treeview Little League from T-ball through high school. Baseball was his passion.
After high school, he worked full time jobs while attending ITT Technical Institute. After graduation from ITT, he worked for AT&T for 18 years starting off as a Lineman and advanced to Premise Technician, Splicing Technician, and a System Technician. He was active in the union as a Steward, an Executive Board Officer, and Secretary Treasurer with CWA Local 9412 for 12 years.
Jay loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved being outdoors as much as possible. His favorite vacation spot was the cabin in Twaine Harte. He loved to camp, garden and watch the Steelers play. He was a legendary barbecue chef. Throughout his adult years, he kept his passion for baseball by coaching youth baseball and then he coached his son. He was a baseball coach for youth baseball in the Bay Area as well as Manteca.
Jay is preceded in death by his grandparents Barbara and Doug Gilbertson, Joyce and Roy Ingraca, and his father Jeff Ingraca.
Jay is survived by his wife Renee Ingraca, children Alethea Ingraca, Jayson Ingraca, Jr., Alisa Cooksey and Kylee Cooksey; grandson James Larmon, mother Joni Gilbertson, sister Mel Snyder, brother Doug Ingraca, Uncles and Aunts, Tim and Marian Gilbertson, Steve and Kelly Gilbertson, and Becky Deitmen, as well as many nieces and cousins.
Jay's wishes were to not have a formal service. Jay's wife Renee and their children will be having a celebration of life that will be held at a future date.
