Obituary of Mildred Goldman

Please share a memory of Mildred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mildred (Millie) Goldman entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 30th 2020 after a tough two year battle with cancer, at the age of 91. She passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Millie was born in Ely, Nevada on August 16, 1929 to Eli and Dorothy Kantar. Millie was raised in McGill, Nevada alongside her eight siblings. On the 24th of November in 1947, she married Robert Goldman and moved to the Galt area where she later raised her family and remained the rest of her life. She is best remembered for her many years at the Galt Department Store, and later years with the Elk Grove Citizen Newspaper. She loved her family with everything she had and they were her everything. Spending time with her family was near and dear to her heart. She also liked to spend her time with friends, she enjoyed fishing, reading, swimming, as well as singing in the choir at her church, the Galt United Methodist church. It would be an understatement to say that Millie’s cancer won, she was not a quitter and she never stopped fighting. Despite how weak she got at times, she never gave up. There was no quit in Millie and she was one tough cookie. She even managed to live through the devastating loss of her youngest son while quarantined in her care home in Galt. They were very compassionate to her through that hard time when family could not be there with her physically. She was the perfect example what faith, resilience, and perseverance truly look like. Millie will be dearly missed. Millie is survived by her son Richard Goldman, daughter-in-law Cindy Goldman (Thomas Goldman), grandchildren Mike and Tiffany Goldman, Tommy Goldman, Trisha and Chris Chapman, Sheena and Jeff Cerri, Jenna and Brian Patterson, and great-grandchildren Christa, Kylee, Zoe, Chad and Axel. Millie was preceded in death by her husband Robert Goldman, son Thomas Goldman as well as eight siblings. A graveside service will be held for close family and friends at the Galt Arno Cemetery on October 26th at 12 pm. There is a guestbook available online with the Lodi Funeral Home. In honor of Millie and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her favorite charity she supported for many years, The Hanot Foundation, PO Box 950, Lockeford, CA 95237.
