Mr. Anthony James Garecht of Bremerton Washington and former resident of Lodi passed away unexpectedly Wednesday August 23, 2006, in a Seattle, Washington hospital at the age of 21. Mr. Garecht was born June 4, 1985 in Lodi, California to James and Brenda Garecht. Mr Garecht was an Aviation Support Equipment Technician for the USS John C. Stennis stationed in Bremerton, Washington. He was a former student at Lodi High School and graduate of Class of 2002. Mr. Garecht also served as a Volunteer Firefighter for the Stockton Fire Dept and a member of Sea Scout ?Reliance? Ship #13 of Stockton. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed working on his trucks and cars, hunting, watching football. He will be best remembered as a loving son and brother. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his mother Brenda Garecht of Elk Grove; father James Robert Garecht, Jr. and wife Phyliss of Fresno; grandparents Ronna Garecht of Stockton; Eugene and Jean Norred of Joplin, Missouri; great grandmother, Irene Gloss of Lodi and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his loving sister, Kelly Garecht in 2005, his grandfathers, James H. Wilson and James Robert Garecht. A church service will be held Friday September 1, 2006, 10:00 am at Temple Baptist Church, followed by interment with Military Honors at the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday 1:00-8:00 pm at the Lodi Funeral Home.
