Dear Randy, Leslie, David, Dede and Missy, My deepest condolences to you all, and your own extended families on the passing of your father, Jim. I have shared many wonderful and meaningful times of my life with your entire family, some together, some separate. I remember Jim especially, always being the ?backstage photographer? for many live stage dance performances, always making sure the recording and sound systems were working, and contributing to special lighting effects. And for some reason, his birthday always seemed to appear during our spring performances! Later on, I was lucky enough to ?hitch-a-ride? as he drove to Dodge Ridge every weekend while earning his Ski Patrol certificate. Sometimes this included some of you. I will never forget the day Jim and Ron Varner called me an ?aggressive? skier (they were watching me from a chair lift). This was an interesting choice of words, since I still considered myself a timid snow bunny on short skis. I even shared a set or two of tennis with Jim, but in truth his serve knocked me out of the court?.it was NOT an even match! As happens when a couple divorces, it is difficult to remain close to both sides. I will always consider your mother a dearest friend, so I missed out on the company of Jim after this event. You all have a lot to be proud of, in the case of both of your parents and upbringing. I know from both sides, they are both extremely proud of all of you in your life accomplishments. From time to time I share in various celebratory events in your lives, probably surprising you?but your mother surprised me some time back, introducing me as her ?lifetime friend?, which I consider the highest compliment, and consider myself fortunate to call you all ?friends?. From my family to yours ..... heartfelt sympathy in this time of sorrow. Luana Fiorini

I want to express my sympathy to the Payne family. May the model that "Jim" provided for you be reflected in your lives. I suggest the reading of Ephesians 3:14-21 as a prayer. May you find comfort in knowing that you have a good family and an example of a loyal, honest and great American in "Jim" Payne. God Bless You. Tony Berry

With caring thoughts we send this message to all of you. Remember that you're thought about not just by friends alone but by a loving and kind God.-John 11:25. Our loved ones may leave the world but never the place that they hold in our hearts. Mr. Payne touched the lives of others and will be missed.
