Obituary of George Edward Gossman

Mr. George Edward Gossman of Galt and former resident of Stockton passed away unexpectedly Monday September 24, 2007, in his residence at the age of 53. Mr. Gossman was born November 2, 1953 in Stockton, California to Peter and Rosalie Gossman. George worked as a Dairy Foreman for Kessler?s Dairy, Bay Meadows Farm, in Galt for the past 22 years. He attended and graduated from Linden High School Class of 1971 and was very active in the F.F.A. George also attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, majoring in Animal Husbandry. He was very active with the Galt and other 4-H County Fair Presentations. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He will be best remembered a loving son, and great friend, but mostly for his hard work ethics and his lending hand. He is survived by his parents, Peter and Rosalie Gossman of Stockton; 2 sisters, Jean Shipman (Douglas) of Portland, OR; Susan Streff (Michael) Tucson, AZ; 2 nephews Neal Shipman of Vancouver, WA; Adam Straff of Tucson, AZ; 1 niece Katie Gagznos of Oregon City, OR; and a great nephew Vincent Gagznos of Oregon City, OR. Recitation of the Holy rosary will be held Tuesday, October 2nd, 6:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. A memorial mass will be held Wednesday October 3, 2007, 11:00am at St. Michael's Catholic Church, followed by a private interment at the Galt/Arno Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday 12:00-8:00pm at the Lodi Funeral Home.
