My family and I had the recent opportunity to bump into the Muther's at a local restaurant. They were celebrating a special Birthday. Margaret, daughters and Sterling accompanied Fred. Heidi told me that he is happiest when the whole family is around. I could sure tell he was happy. I knew Fred to be a kind man. I always felt welcome in the Muther home. I have a specific memory of Fred walking into one of Heidi's basketball games (with seat cushion in hand) voicing his support of her prior to the start of the game. I remember thinking what a neat guy. The beaming smile that all the Muther's adorn is evidence of the loving home of which Fred actively participated in. All our love! The Wheatley's

Fred was such a wonderful and gentle man -- I enjoyed his big teddy bear style and his smile. I remember his visits to Santa Barbara and how proud he was of all his girls. He was blessed to have free entertainment with his four girls and they were blessed to have a steady and encouraging audience of one ... he leaves his mark on this planet. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to come to the service as I would have LOVED to have been there. Sending you my love.

I met Fred in Jan. 1943 on a troop train goingfrom the Presidio of Monterey, Ca. to St. Petersburg, Fla. where we had basic training together. We became friends there and continued to be friends for the next 60 years. We will sorely miss him. We have many fond memories of the times we had together. Our deepest sympathy to the family. Previous commitments preclude our attending the services.

Mr. Muther was a shining star while he shared his life with us. On May 27th, Fred became a shining star for all the world to see! Not many individuals are blessed with that twinkle in their eye--Fred was one of them. You know the type: the ones who give us a look and bring calmness; the ones who smile at us and give us joy and the ones who just light up a room the minute they walk in! We'll miss him, but every time we see a twinkle in sky we will know it is Fred looking down on us. We will miss you Fred but you will ALWAYS be alive in our hearts. Everytime we look in the sky we will think of you! Warm regards, Matthew and Christina Steinorth

Monique is my connection to Fred and through her I feel I have some familiarity with Fred (and Margaret's) spirit. And what a spirit! Monique's enthusiasm, love of life and all God's creatures, and extraordinary beauty and compassion pay tribute to her father's generous and engaging spirit. My thoughts and prayers are with Margaret, Laura and Sterling, Monique, Heidi and all who loved Fred and who love his family. God bless you with comfort and peace and continued faith.

I have sat here and thought of all the cool things that were part of Fred. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He would help you out no matter what the cost. He was sick and still he would come and get Willard and he would worry about him. He wanted to make sure that everything that could be done for Willard was being done, even wanting to take him to Rough & Ready to the veterans clinic to help him out with medications. He will be missed but each of you have a little part of him , maybe temperment, ability to do something that he was good at, the ability to love and give. Even though he won't be there physically you will notice little things being said or done that will remind you of him and all the love that he had to give. God bless you all!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, family and friends alike. What can one say other than the word "Family." My fondest memories were the family reunions and special moments with your family. You have all been blessed by an experience born of God the Father, and and our Savior's love. Your Father, Grandfather and those who came before you have set a standard that your Father has improved upon. May our Savoir embrace you all and provide that special Comforter by which you can find Peace and you all can continue on your earthly journey. May God bless each and every one of you with the Faith to know that you can and will endure to the end so that you may someday be with your Family, your loved ones and of course your Father.
