I will always love and remember my Aunt Vi. She had a way with dates and surprised me with knowing my birthdate and anniversary date. One of the funny things I remember is that she never liked to have her picture taken and would hide or put something up in front of her. Gail has told me that she loved me and, you know....I always felt that. She will be terribly missed and my sympathies are with my Uncle Albert, Gail and family.

Dear Aunt Vi, You are definitely one of my favorite people in the world. While I may not have had the opportunity to spend much time with you in-person, I will always appreciated our visits together -- whether in Lodi, North Dakota, on the phone or through letter writing. You always had the gift of making the person your with feel like no one mattered more, no one was more special, and that they were always interesting, to you -- you showed a LOVE for others. And that's how you'll be remembered -- for being a loving person, and showing that outwardly. Love, Steven P.S. You still make the best devilled eggs, ever...(next to my Mom, of course)!

Our hearts and prayers are given to you with all our love. We put our arms around all of you for extra strength to help you through your days ahead. Aunt Vi I will always remember when I was little, anytime we went to your house there was something good to eat especially your homemade cookies :-) Bobby (Kathi*) - I've been blessed because of you, Albert, Tony, Gail and Kimberly. Thank you for always making me feel like family. I'll always remember the yummy homemade foods and goodies. When I picked up Kimberly you never let me leave without sampling it or sending some home with me :-) Thank you, and before walking out the door I received a big hug each time. At different family gatherings you would sit next to me and I enjoyed the stories of your past years and of Gail and Gary when they were little. Vi you will forever have a spot in my heart.

I will miss you much even though we didn't see each other very often. I have fond memories of you and Al visiting us in the summer. You were very funny, loving and had a way of putting me at ease. I was privileged to know you and wish nothing but the best for your family during this time of sadness.

To my Auntie Vi, and all her family: We will remember all the fun we had camping all those years. Our precious summers visiting around the campfire. The jokes we told eachother in our camper. The nightgown and the men's shoes. The endless love and support you have always given us and our children. The stories you told us about Aunt Christine. How supportive you were of our children, and how much they loved you. I thank you for being the wonderful aunt that cared so much and always remembered important dates in our lives. I thank you most of all for putting Gail in my life, and I promise to always be there for her as she has always been here for me. I love you Auntie Vi and will miss and love you always. Bev

As a child I remember Aunt Vi as the "quiet one" who spent time with us "little ones". She was always eager to offer a hug and a kiss on the cheek, and of course something good to eat. As an adult, I will never forget her thoughtfulness and kind ways when I moved to Lodi in 1986. Gail and Tony, Aunt Vi and Uncle Albert were always there to lend a hand and offer a comforting word.....moving can be hectic! It was her homemade vegetable soup that she would stop by with or leave on the porch as a surprise, along with cookies, grapes, tomatoes, etc. that brightened my day! I'm glad I had the chance recently to receive one last hug and kiss on the cheek. It's always most difficult on the loved ones left behind, so Uncle, Gail, Tony and Kimberly, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I will miss my dear sister so very much. Vi and i traveled around the country during World War Two and have many wonderful memories of those years together. I will always cherrish her visits and the time we shared in North Dakota. Although we lived so far apart, I always felt we were so close in so many ways. Vi became my children's favorite aunt, with her happy laughter and wonderful humor. She taught them laughter and love and I will be forever grateful for that. My deepest sympathies to family and friends- with love, Hilda and Delmer Gallagher.

Words cannot express the grief we feel for you all. Vi was such a loving and wonderful friend and treated both of us like we were her adopted children. We could go months without seeing her and one hug and kiss was all it took to feel the love she had for us. We will miss her terribly and only hope the love we have for Al and Tony, Gail and Kimerbly helps in some small way. I want to thank you all for sharing your loving and wonderful Mother with us. Ron & Cookie

There is so much to say, how do I start? She was a wonderful sister in law and I loved her dearly. We had many laughs thoughout the years camping and cooking together, even when Gail and I added stuff like flowers, popcorn etc. to her cake. She was discusted, but she kept on baking th cake and Gail an I laughed, but the cake was good in spite of it all. I will never forget her and our special times together. I will try to take care of my brother for you Vi. I love you and will miss your smiling face always. Alvina

I will always cherish the love I received from my Aunt Vi. I remember while growing up, I was fortunate to live within walking distance from her home and would often appear unannounced. Nonetheless, I was welcomed with open arms, delicious baked goods, fun and adventure. As a young girl, I remember her letting me climb all around her backyard fish pond. I believe I was one of the few nieces and nephews who didn't fall in and she praised me for my efforts. I also had an appetite for her neighbor's kumquats and she would be on the look out while I helped myself to an exotic treat. Aunt Vi was a beautiful woman who never liked having her picture taken, and I remember a time when my dad decided to take her picture anyway. She was sitting on a chair and decided if her picture had to be taken she should be doing something. She quickly thought of smoothing out a doily on the arm of the chair. We still have that picture. Although she is coyly looking up, her fun loving great heart and love shine through. Thank you for all your love, Aunt Vi. You surely will be missed but always in heart. Diane

Gail, I can remember being around your house when we were all kids. Your mom was always very good to all of us. I also remember her sense of humor. You once told us a story about her putting a snickers bar in your luggage, to be found when you were on your honeymoon, (what a mom ). I think she was a terrific mom, and you were lucky to have her for 81 years. All of our love and support, Ron & Teri.
