Obituary of Bartley Kirby

Bartley A. Kirby was born January 21, 1933 in Preston, Idaho. He passed away December 5, 2003 in Elk Grove, California. He was 69. Bartley moved to California with his family at age 3, the family settled in Modesto and then Stockton. He moved to Lodi in 1960. Mr. Kirby was employed by Lucky's Grocery Stores as a Butcher/Meat Department Manager for 49 years. He was a longtime member of the Butcher's Local , and a past member of the Lodi Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing as a favorite past-time but his true joy was spending time with all of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters; Kimberley Kearney of Stockton, Kristine Tilley of Utah, Karin Stiver of Elk Grove, and Kelly Geist of Lodi, his son; Mel Kirby of Bakersfield, 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. His brother Lavar Kirby of Stockton, and his sisters; Beth Seibel of Newcastle, Datha Pocock of Stockton and Ardath Yates of Jackson. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Kirby in 1998. Friends may visit Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and are invited to attend Funeral Services on Thursday at 1 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home with interment at Lodi Memorial Cemetery immediately following. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, Lodi Chapter, 2609 E. Hammer Lane, Stockton, Ca. 95210-4222.
