Edith Mae Overton was born May 1, 1912 in Tupelo, Mississippi. She passed away December 7, 2003 in Lodi, California, she was 91. Edith worked for Guild Wineries as a Traffic Clerk for over 18 years and has lived in the Lockeford and Lodi area for the past 69 years, she attended Grace Church of Lockeford. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter-in-law; Rose Powell of Sacramento, grandchildren; Charlene Cannon of Santa Rosa, Robert Cannon of Anchorage, Ak., and Linda McMullin of Rancho Cordova, 3 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; George Overton, son; Charles Overton, sisters; Bess Tolan, and Jesse Cook, and her brothers; Lee Cockrell, and George Cockrell. Friends may visit Wednesday from Noon until 8 p.m., and Thursday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., and are invited to attend Funeral Services on Friday, at 1 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave, with interment at Cherokee Memorial Park immediately following.
