Emiliano S. Vargas of Stockton, passed away on December 11, 2003 in Stockton. He was born on July 29, 1929 in Pachuca, Mexico. He came to the United States when he was 28 years old and settled in the Lodi-Stockton area. He married Magdalena Sanchez 46 years ago. He was a Partner/Personnel Manager of Lodi Farming, Inc. for over 46 years. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. His hobbies included singing and playing the guitar and farming, but his great love was the time that he spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Magdalena Vargas, of Lodi; children, Rick Vargas of Modesto, Connie Vargas-George of San Francisco, Tony Vargas of Sacramento, Rudy Vargas of Stockton and Art Vargas of Stockton; 8 grandchildren; brothers, Felipe Vargas, Stockton and Sotero Vargas of Stockton; sisters, Luciana Vargas and Vicenta Vargas of Mexico. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Vargas and granddaughters, Katie George and Casandra Vargas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 17th at 11:00 AM at St. Anne's Catholic Church with Father Jairo Ramirez officiating. Committal will follow immediately at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Tuesday, 8:00 AM until 7:00 PM. At this time there will be a Recitation of the Rosary at Lodi Funeral Home Chapel.
