Obituary of Nicolas Gutierrez

Nicolas Gutierrez of Galt, passed away in Galt on January 2, 2004 at the age of 77. He was born in Bingham Canyon, Utah on August 17, 1927. Mr. Gutierrez came to California in 1945 to Riverside. He married Macrina Avila on July 4, 1971 in Mexico. They moved to Galt in 1981. He has resided in Galt since this time. He was a retired smelter, working for Union Pacific Railroad. He was a member of St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Galt. He enjoyed playing cards, particularly solitaire, and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Macrina Gutierrez of Galt, children; Nicolas Gutierrez of Tulare, Oscar Gutierrez and Saul Gutierrez of Galt; 7 grandchildren; Siblings, Salvadore Gutierrez of Los Angeles, Emilio Gutierrez of Los Angles, Leonila Gutierrez of Los Angeles, Ofelia De La O of Fresno and Jose Gutierrez of Mexico. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday 9 a.m. at St. Christopher's Catholic Church. Committal will follow at the Galt-Arno Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3 PM until 8 PM and Wednesday from 9 AM until 7 PM at the Galt Funeral Home, 702 B Street. A recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday at Galt Funeral Home at 7 PM.
