Obituary of Connie Rivera

Connie Rivera of Lodi passed away on January 20, 2004 in Sacramento at the age of 76. She was born in Combs, Texas on December 8, 1927. On May 10, 1948, she married Maximo Rivera, Sr. in Pharr, Texas. They moved to Lodi in 1967. She has been a resident of Lodi since that time. Most of her life was spent as a homemaker; however, she was a seasonal worker for Tri-Valley Growers in Thornton for 20 years. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking and eating out, but her greatest passion was her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Max Rivera, Sr. of Lodi; children, Bertha Ramos of Lodi, Oscar Rivera of Lodi, Fred Rivera of Sacramento, Becky Rivera of Lodi and Lupe Rivera of Boise, Idaho; 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; brother, Manuel Valdez of Merced and sister, Yolanda Payne of Brownsville, Texas. She was preceded in death by three sons, Max Rivera, Jr., Fernando Rivera and Ricky Rivera; brother, Jose Montalvo and sisters, Lela Valdez and Alicia Montalvo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Committal will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00PM until 8:00 PM and Thursday from 8:00 AM until 7:00 PM at Lodi Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00 PM on Thursday night at Lodi Funeral Home Chapel.
