I was a young girl when I started training as a locomotive engineer, at a time when there were no others. There were many responses to this, but few as accepting of this new situation as was Vince. HIs humor and his respect to me was equalled only by his candor. He loved his job and it was great working along side him. His wit was as evident as was the ever present cigar.

To Vince"s family. I knew your husband/dad in high school. I went to St. Francis & in those days the catholic schools were closely affiliated. Vince & I even went "steady" for about a month. Trust me, going steady in those days simply meant you had a date for dances, etc. Anyway, I have a neat picture of Vince sitting on a tractor. I'm wondering if your family might like to have it. It's just a black & white but maybe some of your family would have a resemblance. I'll mail it to the funeral home & they can arrange to get it to you. Hopefully it will come out of my album without damage. I'm so sorry for your loss. I've not heard or seen Vince in over 50 some odd years but I remember him as a very nice, gentle, & humerous man. Actually he was still a boy in those days. Sincerely, Jackie (Kane) Wild

I have many happy memories with the Vallarino family in the early 70's. My most memorable fishing trip was with Mr. Vallarino, Vince and my dad, Erwin Gibbons to Markleeville where we ran into rattlesnakes. My thoughts and sympathy are with your family.

Valerie, Vince, and David: It's been many years since I had seen your father (back when Val and I were close). I remember him being gone alot but always making time to be at your games when he was home. Some of my lasting memories are the Notre Dame replays on Sundays and you kids rubbing his head behind his chair. He was always friendly to me and I liked being around him. I'm sorry for your loss.
