I grew up knowing Paul as a dear friend of my grandparents, the Hennecke's. Paul and Gladys would get together with Irene and Willis on Saturday evenings to play cards and sit around the table and tell jokes, always including me as a youngster. Paul was always jovial and had great stories to share. I have many fond memories of camping trips and holidays spent together; he will truly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the family. Our childhood days on "York Street" were so great. We were very lucky to have the kind of neighborhood "family" that we did and you were all a big part of that. I pray for strength for you to get through this sad time. Paul was a wonderful man and will be missed by all!

What a privilege to say we knew Paul. Any time we would see him he would always have a smile, maybe a new joke, and certainly a moment to spare. A bright and intelligent man, he worked his way through life with dedication and commitment. We watched a happily married Paul and Gladys raise their family and they were good role models. He sincerely enjoyed his children and was a warm and loving father. Judy and Ron are so blessed to have been raised by him. Amazingly kind and friendly to his children's friends, he always made us feel special and part of the family. We will miss him very much.....and we will always think of him with love. Thank you for the many wonderful, fun memories, Mr. Mayer.

I remember when I was growing up our two families used to get together and go waterskiing. We went on the river and at Knight's Lake behind the Woodbridge Dam
