He was a smart, thoughtful grandfather, able to take it all with a laugh. Through his funny stories, jokes, and the occasional history fact, he always made me interested to hear more. He will be missed, but happily and fondly remembered.

Rich was a well-known and well-liked caring neighbor. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and caretaker for his wife, Lois. He was also teacher to my sons, Bill and Ken Bryant. Rich touched many lives during his time and will be sorely missed by all.

Despite the fact that he (as he so often loved to mention) failed math, my grandfather was a remarkable man. From frequent Yellowstone visits to engaging conversations with unsuspecting telemarketers, he always managed to have fun. He will be greatly missed.

I will always remember Mr. Janecky for Junior year history and for him letting me frustrate 2 of the male students in that class. I asked Mr. Janecky if I could not do his worksheets if I continued to get an "A" in his class on all of the tests and he said "fine". Of course my sitting there reading always bothered those two boys unmercilessly (one went on to be valedictorian), and when I would get a higher grade on a test they would go and whine to Mr. Janecky but he remained firm to our deal. I appreciated his teaching, calm demeanor in the classroom and his love of history. Thank you for letting him teach and sharing his knowledge and kind spirit with those of us he taught. I apologize to you for never stopping him when I saw him walking the past few years and never telling him of the positive impact he made in my life. My thoughts are with you now. M. Hopps
