Even though our paths crossed only a few times after we became adults, I will always remember the fun times we shared as children and cousins living in Pittsburg. You will be missed!

Garland was a good man. Since my own Dad died in 1981 he was the only Grandfather my children (Sean & Tina Marie) had. They couldn't have been in better hands. Garland was kind, fair, honest, and had a terrific sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew him, and well remembered.

Although I did not spend too much time with my Uncle Garland, I do have very fond memories of him. I remember him to be very funny, and energetic. As a young girl I remember when he use to visit us in San Jose. He was always laughing and just having a good old time. My prayers are with all of you at this time of need, and I also pray that we all embrace life and do our best to live life as god would want us to. Much Love and many prayers to my family today and always. Cynthia and Jennifer Viramontez

As a young girl I have fond memories of Garland. He was a kind and gentle man, who was loved by everyone. He was the brother of my dad, LaRue who took us all on many boating trips together. He loved fishing on the San Joaquin River, where he spent many hours with his two brothers and grandpa. I know in my heart his spirit is now in Heaven with our Heavenly Father and grandpa and daddy, fishing together again. My heart goes out to his family in this time of sorrow and we can all rejoice in all in brought to our lives.

Garland was one of my favorite uncles when I was growing up. We went bowling, fishing, and did many fun things together. It saddened my heart when I heard he was ill. We will all miss him very much, but I praised the Lord when I was told by my Mother that he told Aunt Carol that he was saved when he was a little boy. I am sad in my soul that my Uncle has left this earth; however, I rejoice in my spirit that he is now with my dad with the Lord and I will see him when I go to be with the Lord Jesus Christ. P.S. Garland graduated from Pittsburg High School.

To a happy go-lucky person who had a had a good time at whatever he did. I personally enjoyed many times as a teenager with Garland, Charlene and their daughter Dottie , whenever I could help them out by babysitting for them when they both worked. Love to all the family.

In memory of my loving Uncle Garland. What I remember most about Uncle Garland was his laughter and sense of humor. I didn't get to spend time with him when I became an adult, however, I would run into him at different feastibles in downtown Antioch. He always seemed to enjoy life and loved his family and now he is enjoying life for eternity with our loving Heavenly Father, relatives and friends that have passed away. I know one day I will see him again. My heartfelt sorrow goes out to his family.
