John Lehr of Lodi passed away in Lodi on August 14, 2004 at the age of 87. Mr. Lehr was born in Medina, North Dakota on June 10, 1917 to Ferdinand and Pauline Lehr. His family moved to the Victor area in the mid-1920's. He attended Victor School, growing up in this area. He married Gladys Hamrick on August 31, 1947. They lived in Acampo until 1981 at which time they moved to Lodi. Mr. Lehr was the Foreman for Jahant Ranch for 45 years, retiring in 1979. He was also self-employed as a cattle rancher. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Lehr of Lodi; children, Ted Lehr of Lodi, Kathleen Garrett of Lake Forest, CA, Diane Scott of Lodi, Cheryl Wilkerson of Stockton, Bryan Lehr of Stockton and Belinda Lehr of Sacramento; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Herman Lehr of Lodi; sisters, Bertha Wolfe of Lodi, Martha Schneider of Fresno, Barbara Biskeborn of Lodi, Amelia Pankow of Modesto, Esther Ilges of Marysville, Rose McClean of Lodi, Adelia Kauffman of Castro Valley, Edna Foley of Sacramento and Agnes MacAuley of Gardnerville. He was preceded in death by Violet Lehr, Vernon Lehr and Albert Lehr. He had been a past governor of the Loyal Order of Moose in Lodi.. A service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 PM at Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park with Pastor Curt Vogt of Vinewood Community Church officiating. Committal will immediately follow. Visitation will be at Lodi Funeral Home from 8:00AM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday.
