Pat was one of the nicest, friendliest, happiest people I have ever known. I always enjoyed spending time with him, and Hazel! He will live in my memories forever! He enjoyed the true spirit of waterskiing like I hope to carry with me forever! He was extremely inspirational! He is one of the few people in the world that their is no doubt he went straight to heaven! All my best to Hazel and Tim! Sincerely, John Morley

Dear Hazel and family, I was shocked and saddened to read of Pat's passing.Though I haven't seen Pat in recent times, I've often thought about the years we worked together and what an influence he had on my moving forward in my career. He was always a very positive person; an encourager who could find the positive in difficult situations. I truly enjoyed working with him. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers. Kate

Hazel and Family. I'm so sorry to hear of Pats passing. I'll always remember the days of working with Pat during the good old B83 Program years. I was a young Mechanical Technician just learning my trade and Pat was the old timer,(Not really that old then), keeping me from getting into trouble. Pat was my friend and I'll miss him. Hazel, I was truly shocked to hear of your loss. It was a delight to work with Pat the years I was on the HEU program. We had good laughs preparing all the medical supplies for the monitors and seeing to the preparation and subsequent shipment of Transparency Review Committee equipment and supplies. He was a vibrant personality (as well as ornery!). I will truly miss him. My prayers are with you and your family during this loss. Rochelle & Jacquelyn Watson

I was so sad to hear the news of Pat's death. Pat was a wonderful person, very kind, funny and full of life. I enjoyed working with Pat. Although I didn't know him well outside of work, it was clear how much he loved his family and was looking forward to retirement and spending more time with Hazel. While his passing must be such a shock and so difficult to accept. I hope that his family can take comfort in knowing that he died doing something he really loved, in a place that he loved, so much better that way than a long lingering illness. My thoughts and prayers are with Pat's family and his friends at HEU who I know mourn his passing deeply.

Just a few short months ago Paul and I stopped by to see Tim, but he was out of town. Instead we drove up to the boat dock and I had the opportunity to meet two very wonderful people - Duke and Hazel. We spent the most lovely afternoon with the two of them; they made me feel like I was a part of their family, even though I had just met them hours earlier. Two weeks ago Paul and I dropped in again and we were invited to their family BBQ. I sat with Duke, talking with him about his recent trip to the Sierras, about his job, his family and many other topics. He was an amazing man - so caring, so kind and with a good sense of humor. I was shocked and saddened to hear he had passed away. I wish I had the opportunity to get to know him better as I very much enjoyed the little time I did spend with him. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.

I worked with Pat for the last two years. He was a wonderful man. I loved working with him and talking to him. Pat was an inspiration to me. A semi retired man who still loved to waterski! I also have a ski boat we would sit around talking about watersking and wakeboarding and his lake. I hope when I get to be his age I will be able to do the same. I was at Pat's second retirement party not too long ago at Poppy Ridge. I realy thought we would not see him here at the Lab again. But I guess he missed us all and decided to come back once again. I think he just liked the last two retirement partys that we threw for him. Knowing him he was allready planning retirement party number three. I saw him last Wednesday in his office, I had enough time to talk to him for a few minuets, but I was too busy to carry on a long conversation. Now I wish I had taken some time out of my busy schedule to talk to him for a little while. We are all going to miss Pat very much. I am very honored to have known Pat. I am very sorry You all have lost such a great man. I know in my heart Pat is in heaven Watersking on the most perfect glass.

Dear Jeffie, Danny, Pat, Susan, Tim, Hazel and families- I know all of you have many fond memories of your Dad. I'm not sure he or any of you, knew how much I enjoyed the times in high school I spent with your family. I have a great memory of Pat (Mr. Duke) driving us around to basketball games in that BIG Suburban - taking me in like one of the kids. (as if there weren't enough!) I know he surpassed all of my athletic abilities at the age of 71. A man to be remembered. Thinking of you, Susie
