I have lots of happy memories of my Aunt Bertha. Going to her house when I was small was always a treat. We were "just kids, let 'em have fun" she'd say and we did. Then supper time would come and boy did we have a meal. She always made sure there was plenty and a variety. Of course my favorite time was desert though. As you know cooking and baking were her love and everyone enjoyed her celebrations. Aunt Bertha took great pride in her appearance and she always looked like a million bucks she once told me "if you look good, you'll feel good". She and her siblings would go each summer to Lake Tahoe and sometimes I would go up on the weekends, my goodness she had sewing from one end to the other getting ready for the big holiday boutique for the church but she would still find time to stop and cook and bake and do her Garage Saleling and just enjoy the beautiful Lake. She accomplished more up there at the lake in two weeks than I could all year. When I visited her on Thursday just before she passed I knew she could her me because when I told her to tell my Granny Shoeffler hello when she got to heaven she shed a tear, and I Thanked her for her unconditional love and always being so warm and caring and making everyone around her feel Special and with that she raised her eyebrows as to say "you are welcome". Aunt Bertha - We will miss you. Love, Leslie
