I remember all of thoses years of piano lessons. Aunt Karen started me on a life long love of music and the piano, and I will always thank her for that. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I will be unable to attend the services, but please know that I will be with you in spirit. Love, Cassie

Dear Karen, I met you so long ago when you and my mother worked together in Girl scouts. You were the one with the crafty ideas and you always had so much energy. You gave me a few horseback riding lessons at your home. I now own horses myself, and your influence in my life definately had something to do with that! You gave so much of yourself in everything you did. I cannot imagine how many other girls' lives you touched as well. A GREAT lady has left us, but you will forever be in my heart. May God bless you and your family at this time. Someday we will meet again.

To many memories to list, to many times that your memory can't find. The time I spent at the house, playing, cooking and horseback riding. Testing out the kid proof crafts before she unloaded them on her scout troup. Karen will and always did have a great influence on my life. Even after all these years I often thought of her and Sheri. My thoughts and prayers are with Sheri and the family. Your mom was a very special woman whom we will not soon forget. She lives on in all of us.

I was so shocked to read of her death in the paper. I was out of town and regretfully unable to attend the funeral service. She was so active in her community and loved by so many people. I loved her "country spirit"--love of flowers, gardening, animals, and just living in the country. I also remember her for the crafts she enjoyed, her flower arrangements, and for her activity with girl scouts (as I was a girl scout leader also.) My prayers and sympathies go out to her family--Oroville, her children and Frankie and Steve.

We so much enjoyed our conversation with Karen at our recent class reunion. She said she liked to fish and asked if we did too. We told her that we did and there were many streams and lakes in Calaveras County. She said be sure to call her next time we went and she would come up. May God bless you Orville and your family. Love, Millard and Betty

Karen looked so beautiful at the 80th class reunion on Sept. 25, 2004. It is hard to believe that she was hospilized and passed away just a few days later. She seemed to enjoy seeing old friends. She was a very generous and loving person. She will most certainly be missed by all of us who knew her.

I can't remember how I got involved in ID singers, but knowing Karen she most likely asked me to join. If I already didn't have a love for music she certainly shared hers with all of us and we had many great times rehearsing and performing at many churches during the summers. Her love for music and her momentum for missions has lived on in my life. I warmly remember her this day and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you spend time together. May the remembrances shared be a blessing to all who read them. Thank you Karen. You will be truly missed.

Karen, Here to one of the BEST of Girl Scouts. It was a honor to be beside you in the late 60's thru the early 80's. I was Director of Mini-Camp 4 years, Day Camp Director, boy I know aleast 7 years in a roll. Also Neighborhood Chairman for so many years! I know that my memories of us will never be forgotten. I am proud to be a Girl Scout Buddy, and I know the two of us touch many girls hearts. My daughter Michelle, remembers the horse back lessons you gave her in the 70's. She now owns 5 horses and rides all the time. You would be proud of her. Good-bye dear friend, Till we meet again! Love ya, Jan (Daffy)

Karen: A true and thoughtful friend, a constant source of fun and laughter, a talented and warm political mentor, and a faithful and true republican woman. Her love of Lodi and its people were apparent in everything she did. She impacted my life by example more than she ever knew. Words cannot express how much I will miss her. May God bless and keep Karen during her next journey, and give peace to the Dejong family.
