Dear Jerry, Lori and Sheri, We are so very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. Charlie was a part of our family long before I was born and my Dad and Charlie had a wonderful business partnership together for many years. Your Dad and Mom would always spoil Connie and I with wonderful little gifts from their adventures in Hawaii. They seemed to be missing something in their lives but everything was made complete when they were able to adopt you Jerry, and your sister Sheri. I have never seen two parents more proud of their children. They were very lucky to have you and I know you will always have many happy memories of your Dad and Mom. You are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Uncle Charles was one of Ralph's favorate uncles who incourage Ralph to develop the love of flying. We took many flying trips with uncle Charles. His only sister, Gladys Brooks, was a great admirer of Charles and his many accomplishments. He will hold a special place in our hearts.

Charles was my Grandfather Stan's brother. My wife Susan and I felt very honored to have Charles at our wedding in 2000. He even showed up for the rehearsal dinner party the night before. In the few times that I got to spend with Charles I always felt very welcomed and that he was truely interested in me and my life. My wife and I also feel very blessed that Charles and our son Finn got to meet eachother. We will miss you greatly Charles. We will uphold the Ferdun name in your honor. Infinte Peace & Love to you, Susan, Tim, & Finn Ferdun

We are so saddened to hear that Charles passed away. Among the memories I cherish are when Marie and Charles graciously welcomed me to their home during my college vacations to the lunch George and I had with Charles in August. His work ethic and compasion are an example to us all. For us, his passing marks an end of an era in Lodi. We wish him everlasing peace.

Though our visits to Charles and Marie were few, I know my mother was very fond of both of them. Jennifer, William and I wish Charles peace in his final rest and our very sincere condolences to his family for their loss.

I was very lucky to have been adopted by my parents. This man taught me an incredible amount that I have taken terribly for granted. The best lesson my dad taught me he saved for last. It is to never keep feeling or expressions of caring and love to your self. Tell the ones you love that you do and hold em close often, dont leave things unsaid. Thanks Dad.

so, very much enjoyed talking with charles at Tim's wedding. Also, think I was with his brother Clarence in Hawaii, let Clarence use my phone card and call Charles, which was a good thing I hope. Sorry, won't be able to attend his services, and that our family is so spread apart. God Bless, Mike

Dear Jerry, Lori and Shari, My heart goes out to you and your family at this time. I wish we could be there to share in the memories. Your Dad was a part of my life from the very beginning as a business partner and friend to my parents. Their friendship and business relationship meant alot to me and my family. I will miss the updates my Dad would share with me after his lunch dates with Charlie over the years. Now I will need you guys to keep in touch! Take care and God Bless, Maryann

Dear Jerry and Shari, You may not remember me. When you both were younger Charlie was my Babe Ruth baseball coach. He also hired me to do gardening and other work at your home and farm while I was attending Delta Junior College I pray in Jesus name that you all are comforted during this difficult time. I am saddened beyond words that I will be unable to attend the memorial service as a way to honor Charlie for his graciousness to me during my high school and early college years. Though it has been probably 25 years since I have seen or spoken with Charlie, when I read his obituary I wept, and continue to weep, even now. I found myself being so thankful for God?s goodness to me in having had Charlie as my coach When I think of Charlie I think of his great kindness. He was so giving; I remember him buying the team post-game treats EVERY GAME that I can remember (the best treats of any team whose coach bought them food and drinks after games, which every coach did not or could not do). He also hired me during my first two college years to garden his yard a few days a week during the school year and trusted me to plant his grapes one year (without any experience) and irrigate his vineyard during the summer months He was so good to me; I am indebted beyond words and with tears I loved him, I know that now May I love my players as Charlie loved us Scotty Kessler Head Football Coach Greenville College (IL)

I worked for Ferdun & Woods as an equipment mechanic in 1977 & 1978 before moving to Washington. Working for Charlie was quite enjoyable and I did learn many lessons that have helped in my career since then. One thing I especially appreciated was the fact that Charlie treated employees like people, not servants.
