JUNE VIOLA PAPKE, age 83 of Lodi, passed away in a Stockton convalescent hospital on Oct. 22nd. She was born on June 11, 1921 in Denhoff, North Dakota. June married Harry Papke on November 7, 1938 in McClusky, North Dakota and the couple moved to Lodi in 1960. She enjoyed cooking, canning, square dancing and family gatherings and was a member of Fairmont Seventh-day Adventist Church. She is survived by son, Roger Papke of Stockton; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Mildred Steenblock, Goldie Adams, Elsie Ahl all of Lodi and Erma Boepple of Nevada; brother, Bill Vietz of Oregon. Preceded in death by husband, Harry Papke; daughter, Carol Jean Smiley; sisters, Florence Mertz, Leona Laib. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home with Pastor Harley Schander of Fairmont Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating. Committal will be at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation will begin on Tues from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wed. 8-l0 a.m. Contributions may be made to the Fairmont Seventh-day Adventist Church Memorial Fund, 730 S. Fairmont Ave., Lodi, Ca 95240
