Obituary of Kenneth Joel Woods

Kenneth Joel Woods, Sr. of Lodi passed away in Lodi on Monday, May 23, 2005. Mr. Woods was born in Modesto, CA on November 19, 1949 to Leslie Lee and Ruth Woods. He later moved to the San Jose area where he lived for most of his early life. On February 24, 1968, he married Mary Elizabeth Royer. They later moved to Morgan Hill, eventually moving to Lodi about 5 years ago. He had been self-employed in residential and commercial property maintenance for at least 25 years. He was dedicated to helping others, his life ambition. Ken was an active community and business owner. He is survived by his wife, Mary Woods of Lodi; daughter, Krista and husband, Lee Welch of Lodi; son, Kenneth J. Woods, Jr., of Oakland; 3 grandchildren, Stephen, Tyler and Sevin; brothers, Johnny Woods of San Jose, David Woods of Lodi, Danny and Jack Woods of Oregon and Ed Woods of Idaho; sisters, Peggy Banes of Kansas, Barbara Woods and Sandra Benson, both of Yuba City. He was preceded in death by four siblings. A chapel service will be held at Lodi Funeral Home on Tuesday at 2:00 PM with Chaplain Tony Berry officiating. Committal will immediately follow. Visitation will be held immediately prior to the service from 12 noon until 2:00 PM. on Tuesday.
