Linda and Family, I spoke to my Mom (Lucille) this afternoon and she told me of your Mom's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. I know it isn't easy losing a parent. You'll have to remember way back to Houston School to know who I was. Weren't those easy, lazy days? I remember your Mom from school activities. The thing I remember most about her was her beautiful smile. I wish you and your family peace as you go through this difficult time. Lynette

Great grandma Chandler was a very caring person and I know we all loved her dearly, although she is now in a much better place alongside her husband. Whether she was a mother, grandmother, or even a great grandmother, she loved us all in our own special way. The way of life is a beautiful thing but sometimes it may hurt you.

Irene was one of the kindest and gentlest women I have ever known. It has been a pleasure to have been a part of her life. God bless her in her new journey. May she rest in peace.

Things to remember; Don't blindly eat prickly pears (cactus fruit), Always bait the right sized hook, Duck when a dirt clod is being hurled at you, Don't eat to many unripe apricots, Potato bugs bite, Black salamanders can't breath mud, Roses say so much, usually without words, There are no lifetime of tomorrows, tell those you love.... that you do... Things to remember; Sunday morning eggs and bacon after a Saturday night filled with laughter and music. Family gatherings in the park... early morning fishing trips.... Lemon meringue, banana pudding and pecan pie. Cedar tree's, climbing them to be part of the sky. The sounds of far away trains echoing, lulling me to sleep on so many hot summer nights at your house. Yahtzee and dominos into the wee hours of the morning. RC cola on ice. Dinner with both of you after a long weekend of snow skiing. ....so many things to remember.... What I want you all to remember isn't that we've lost someone dear, someone we counted on, someone we love... what I want you to remember are those precious things our family has done, that brought many hours, days and years of joy, happiness and satisfaction to our being this family. Grandma, Mom, great grandma, aunt Irene... and to so many... Irene Chandler.... from there a long story unfolds, past and present, stories each of us carries.... ...things I'll remember.
