Adeline Alanda Zimmerman of Lodi passed away in Lodi on August 4, 2005 at the age of 88. Mrs. Zimmerman was born in Java, South Dakota on January 28, 1917 to Fred and Elizabeth Forsch. She was raised in Isabel, S.D. where she attended local schools while helping on the family farm. She moved to Lodi in 1937 where she met and eventually married Reuben Zimmerman in Lodi on August 25, 1940. She worked at Stokely-Van Camp cannery for 20 years as a cutter, sorter and filler. Adeline enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening, but her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church since 1937. She also belonged to Ladies Missionary Society. Mrs. Zimmerman is survived by her two daughters LaVonne (husband, Wes) Reimche and Wanda M. (husband, John) Van Santen, both of Lodi; six grandchildren; Scott Reimche, Troy (wife, Laura) Reimche, Tricia Reimche, Tonya Van Santen, Trista (husband, Chad) Boucher and Tasha Van Santen; five great-granddaughters, Sydney, Courtney, Abigail, Chelsea and Taryn; two sisters, Thelma Fischer of Lodi and Loretta Perman of Acampo. She was preceded in death by her husband Reuben Zimmerman in 1998 and brothers, Fritz and Clifford Forsch. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12 noon until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Building fund, 267 N. Mills Avenue, Lodi, CA 95242.
