To a family I never knew. I am the grandson of John's brother Fred. I was raised In a the JW Cult that Fred raised his family in. therefore I was never allowed to spend time with or even know my grandfather's family. I missed out on a lifetime of memories with a family I was never allowed to know all because of the poisonous beliefs of my grandparents and parents religion. I am a grandpa now. and it took that much time to finally fully understand that I had been cheated and robbed from the family I would to have loved to have grown up with. I wish to one day meet and get to know my family as the ones who raised me in isolation no longer have anything to do with me as I have turned my back on their false religion. but enough about me. this is John's place of remembrance. I just wish I had more to say. I never knew him but If i had I am sure that after reading the story of his life; the camping, eating olives and the tomato's omg the tomato's I would have loved; and we would have had some really great times. John had a very long and fulfilling life, surrounded by many people who loved him. for that I am very grateful. hopefully one day I will meet John in Heaven. Rest in peace John. your lost family member Wyatt Thorne

UNCLE JOHNNY WAS ALWAYS SPECIAL TO ME. WHEN I FIRST CAME TO CALIFORNIA TO MARRY HIS NEPHEW, SONNY, I REMEMBER GOING TO HIS HOUSE TO MEET THE FAMILY, THEY ALWAYS MADE ME FEEL SO WELCOME AND SPECIAL. HE WAS A GREAT MAN.

My deepest sympathy to Johnny's family. I lived next door to Johnny's market and I spent every penny or nickel I could find on sodas and licorice. It was like a second home to me. I also grew up with his beautiful daughters. Theresa and I are the same age. He was such a nice man. I was sorry to hear of his passing.

I always looked forward to hearing your stories. You had the charm and presence of someone very special, and had a way of making everyone around you feel special. Your zest for learning and staying connected to people and your many hobbies afforded you the rich life you were so lucky to live. Thank you for being my dads best friend. You have no idea how badly you are missed. We all loved you so much, Uncle Johnny.
