Doris C. Beard of Lodi, formerly of Los Osos, passed away on June 16, 2006 at the age of 85. Mrs. Beard was born in Kansas City, KS on November 23, 1920 to Claude and Ellen Coffey. She married Bert Bernard Beard in 1945 in Southern California, living there until 1979 at which time they moved to Los Osos. About 6 years ago she moved to Lodi to be near her daughter. She belonged to the Grandmothers? Club and Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, knitting, but most importantly, being with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ellen (George) Bradley of Lodi; two grandsons, Eric ( Anna) Bradley and Lucas Bradley; great-grandson, Ethan Bradley; brother, Raymond Coffey of Stockton, MO and sister, Frieda Coffey of Kansas City, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Bernard Beard in 1985 and sister, Mary Skiles. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 20th at 2:00 p.m. at Los Osos Valley Memorial Park. There is no visitation.
