Hazel was God's gift to all who knew her. How well I remember her wonderful stories from school and Sabbath School. And, she planned many weddings--beautifully. She served her church and her community with an essential caring that was extraordinary. Hazel was loved by all of us who knew her and she will be missed in equal measure as she was loved.

Mrs. Lombardi will certainly have many stars in her crown! Hazel was my bus driver and I was the first one on and the last one off. I had to wash the bus many times for naughty things I did but Hazel always rewarded me for good things I did with ice cream cones on the way home. Such a wonderful role model. We will miss your great smile and always willing ways.

Hazel told the best stories, and she always had one ready for any occassion. She was great at weddings. She helped the father of the bride in handing off the brides hand to the groom and it was always flawless. Her smile was always an encouragement to anyone performing. Hazel was one of the great ladies in my life.

I am sure all who knew Hazel will miss her greatly. She was a wonderful, inspirational lady. When I attended Lodi SDA elementary school she substituded three or four times (fourth-sixth grade) during the early 50's. I remember what a good story teller she was during the Jr. S.S. class at Central church. We attended the same S.S. class later at English Oaks. When I visited her at the conv.care home I went to encourage her but somehow she always became the encourager to me. I will never forget her smiling face and the joyful conversations we had.
