Obituary of Opal Virginia Jenner

Opal Virginia Jenner of Lodi passed away in Lodi on June 22, 2006 at the age of 83. Mrs. Jenner was born in Lodi on June 3, 1923 to Henry and Kate Baumbach Scheideman. She graduated from Lodi High School, class of 1941. On April 21, 1944, she married Harold Jenner in Durham, S.C. She worked for Claude C. Wood Company and Avenue Florist as a bookkeeper for a total of at least 47 years. She enjoyed playing cards and being with people. Anybody she met was a friend and not a stranger. She was a member of the Widowed Persons Association of California, WPAC, and was a peer counselor in bereavement groups. She had been a long-time member of Zion Reformed Church, having been the treasurer of Zion Reformed Church Sewing Circle and a member of the Choir. Mrs. Jenner is survived by her two sons, Jeff Jenner of Long Beach, Mississippi and James (Lori) Jenner of Lodi; niece, Peggy Moos of Lodi; nephew, Dennis Buckmiller of Wenatchee, WA and brother-in-law, Lester Jenner of Lodi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Jenner in 1974 and two sisters, Edith Hoff and Florence Buckmiller. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Reformed Church with Pastor Jason Tacderan officiating. There is no visitation, and committal is private.
