Obituary of Beryl Ashlock-Ray

Mrs. Beryl Ashlock-Ray of Lodi and former resident of Sacramento and Chester passed away Thursday June 29, 2006 in a Lodi hospital at the age of 93. Mrs. Ashlock-Ray was born August 14, 1912 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to George and Fleda McMullen. Mrs. Ashlock-Ray worked for Sprouse/Reitz, Emery & Brown, and Wilson's Pharmacy in Lodi for many years before retiring. Mrs. Ashlock-Ray was a 50+ year member of the Women of the Moose, a long time member of TOPS in Lodi as well as the Chester Chapter. She enjoyed playing board games and spending time with her family and friends. She will be best remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and for that twinkle in her eyes. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by 2 sons, Bill Ashlock and wife Mina of Lodi; John Ashlock and wife Pat of Galt; son in-law Jim Long of Chester; daughter in-law Monda Van dyke and husband Bob of Lodi; 10 grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and dear friend of over sixty years, Frances Cross and husband Dan of Lodi. She was preceded in death by her late husband Elmer Ray, 1st husband Leroy Ashlock, 2nd husband Frank Reindel, a son Glen Ashlock, daughter Frances Ashlock Long, siblings, Alice, Harry, Charley, Margaret, Agnes, Millie and a great -grandson. A chapel service will be held Monday July 3, 2006, 1:00pm at the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Perry Kallis of Temple Baptist. In lieu of lowers memorial contributions can be sent to the local Hospice Programs or the donor's charity of Choice.
