Obituary of William Todd

William Fowler Todd, Sr., was born December 9, 1922 in Springhill, Tennessee to Crokett and Ella Todd. He passed away at a local hospital on August 7, 2006. He was 83. Mr. Todd was raised and educated in Tennessee. He served in the United States Navy and worked as a warehouseman in the Wholesale Grocery industry for 33 years, most recently with the A.M. Lewis Company. He and his beloved wife Mildred settled in Galt in 1989. Mr. Todd enjoyed watching football (he loved the San Diego Chargers), and basketball (he played basketball while he was attending school), travel, and cooking BBQ. He was also a member of the Church of Christ, VFW Post 1877 in San Diego where he served as Quartermaster for many years, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Teamsters Local in San Diego, but his one true love was his wife Mildred and spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mr. Todd is survived by his wife Mildred Todd of Galt, Daughter; Elizabeth Charlene Kelley, son; William F. Todd, Jr., both of Galt, sister; Ethel Watson of Murfreesboro, TN., 6 Grandchildren, and 11 Great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Crokett and Ella Todd, and his brothers; James and Raymond Todd. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Thursday, August 10, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave. Pastor Frank Mack of Family Life Christian Church will officiate.
