Obituary of Agnes Bernice Walther

Agnes Bernice Walther, a long-time resident of Lodi, passed away in Lodi on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at the age of 74. Mrs. Walther was born in Temvik, N.D. to Fred and Katharina Wohl on March 6, 1932. She was raised on the farm of her parents, east of Temvik. She was baptized September, 1932 and confirmed in June, 1946 at Peace Lutheran Church in Linton, N.D. She moved to Lodi in October of 1947. She completed high school in 1949. On August 20, 1950, she married Raymond Walther. During her early years, she worked in a restaurant, telephone company and then later worked for an optometrist for 11 years. She was a Foster Parent for 10 years, and then went back to work for Mervyn's in 1979 until her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed taking care of her flower garden, sewing, cooking and baking for her children and grandchildren as well as spending time with her grandchildren. She recently enjoyed swimming at Hutchins Street Square. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Mrs. Walther is survived by her three daughters, Rachelle Fawns of Franktown, Colorado, Rhonda Craig of Lodi and Roberta (Bradley) Evans of Lodi; grandchildren, Victor Rigas, III, Kaitlin Fawns, Grayson Craig, Christian Craig and Arielle Craig; sister, Anne Faszer of Lodi and brother, Alvin Wohl of Sacramento. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Walther on April 21, 2005, one brother, Edgar Wohl and three sisters, Leona Ohlhauser, Ella Makin and Esther Ohlhauser. Friends are invited to visit Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Services will be private. Memorial remembrances may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 S. Pleasant Avenue, Lodi, CA 95240.
