Mike & family: Please accept our condolences. I have many memories of your dad, including the house calls that so many have mentioned here. He came to our house here on Crescent Avenue, too, to care for my mother. I also have vivid memories of being treated by him . . . waiting for him to arrive, but hearing his distinctive voice out in the office hall as it grew closer until it was finally my turn, especially when Mrs. Miller was his nurse in the little office on Fairmont Avenue. Your father had the gift of treating everyone as if they were the most important person in the world. My parents appreciated his down-to-earth demeanor and sharing of stories of working hard when growing up in South Dakota.

We want to extend our condolences to Betty and family. When I was a little girl the Williams family lived down the street from us. I used to play with the children and remember the three oldest girls. Dr. Williams was a good friend and doctor to my dad, the late Andrew Leonardini Sr. and my late mother Mary, "Go Mary". Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

What a wonderful husband, dad, father-in-law, and "Bompa" George has been to the loved ones in his lifetime. As I read these tributes, I am moved by the number of people he touched and even helped into the world in his role as a physician. I know that God is saying, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

Dr. Williams was a delight to work for. He was kind and gentle with his patients and always willing to listen. They loved coming to their "doctor". We always enjoyed watching Dr. W. cheer for his grandson's basketball team when they played against our son's team--he definitely was Jimmy's #1 fan. May your loving memories stay close to your hearts forever. Rod and Clare Woznick

I met Dr George for the first time, when I started with Glaxo-Wellcome in 1998. Of all the physicians at the practice, he was the only one that went out of his way to make me feel welcome in his office and always had time to chat. He was a very kind and caring gentleman and will be missed greatly.

I have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Williams for 17+ years at Lodi Memorial Hospital. He was the Chairman of the Bylaws Committee for many years and did a very excellent job. My husband and I had the opportunity to attend several Christmas parties with Dr. Williams and Betty and appreciated each and every visit. He will be sadly missed in our hearts.

Dear Betty, My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. You have known me my entire (age 60) life, as you were such dear friends of my parents, Babe and Bob Litts. My fondest memories are of the parties my parents would have at our home. I would be too young to join the party, but I always had a "lookout" from my bedroom window, down to the patio in the backyard, where the summer parties were staged. Oh my, your generation was a wild bunch! (enough said....). When Babe died in her sleep so very young at age 64, I remember coming home from New York, where I was living, and seeing you both at the house, with Barb, Persis and Jack, Rosamond, Speed and Betty, Jack Chappell, and all the gang that loved to party in the good old days. More recently, I have enjoyed helping you to get down to Mexico and various places, so that George could add another State to your beautiful piece of "golf" jewelry he designed for you. I will miss seeing you together at the Christmas Ball that now I go to at the Square, but long, long ago, that was another event that your group always shined at when, way back then, it was held at the Country Club. I have such fond memories and will miss you, George. You were a true gentleman. Betty, I will be with you tonight and tomorrow in spirit, and am sorry I can't be there in person to give you a big hug.....xxoo, Bobby

Dr. Williams was my Physician for 29 years. When I would have my physicals, he would sit down and start talking to me like he had nothing else to do, that really impressed me. When I went back to college in my mid twentys, he knew I didn't have any insurance so he charged me half price. Pretty cool. He was a wonderful individual. I will miss him. Jeff Lippert

So sorry to hear of the passing of such a kind and caring person. Dr. Williams was always ready to listen. I can still hear him comming down the hall at Lodi Memorial Hospital and whistling a happy tune. One could always tell when he was near, because he would always whistle those happy tunes. When my father passed away, over 40 years ago, he called my mother personally that evening and suggested that she move up her surgery so she would be covered by insurance. He always took that extra step for his patient, no matter if it was after hours or during the weekend. Dr. Williams will be dearly missed. Our love to all his family.

As a young boy, I had a great fear of needles, and doctors, One day, riding home on my stingray, I had flipped the bike rear over front, skidding on the asphaltt, bleeding from both elbows and knees, only about 50 yards from home. I hurried home and entered the back door, in fear, partly because I saw the car, and heard the voice of Dr. Williams inside. I quickly entered the back bathroom to try to clean my wounds, my mother asking if I was okay, insisting Dr Williams take a look. I had never been seen by this towering man before as a patient. I remember how soothing and consoling his voice was, and since that time, I had begun a new trust in doctors. My sympathies to the family on the loss of their husband, father and grandfather. I have many fond memories of Dr. Willams and his family.

Dr. Williams always said I was his first birth in Lodi and that my delivery was what caused his hair go backwards. I was his faithful patient for many years and remeber his smile, quick wit and caring touch. When I heard his voice in a store a couple of weeks ago, I did not even need to see him, but knew instinctively that that low resonating voice was his. I was so pleased to see him even though he was ailing. His last words to me were, "Take care of yourself and have a wonderful life." I will take his words with me always and thank him for always being there. We will meet again in another place and I look forward to the pleasure and honor of his company.

Dr. Williams and I had a long medical journey together. He became my family's doctor in 1953...In 1957 my mother was his first colin cancer patient. After my marriage in 1957 he became my family's doctor. During the next four years he delieved my four babies, the third one was stillborn..and his compassion and caring was very comforting. When the fourth baby was born I recieved one blood transfusion and received hepatitis, he also took care of me through that! In 1967 he delievered my last baby. He took care of them all through their childhood and into adulthood..even delievered one of their baby's. In 1986 he diagnosed that my hepatitis came back and eventually it became know as Heptatis C he sent me to specialist that recommended a transplant..he wasn't too sure that was the way to go as that was fairly new..but once it was done he gave me the best of care..He was trully a family doctor..and he loved to talk about his family and the wonderful golfing trips he took with his wife..and he was so proud of his children..we all were blessed with this man's compassion and caring.

I am very sorry to find out of the passing of one the truly great physicians to have practiced in our community. I had the wonderful pleasure to have worked with George for many years before his retirement. He was a true gentleman and excellent physician who was unfailing courteous and sympathetic to his patients. He practiced excellent clinical medicine but more importantly he listen patiently and counseled wisely. George came from an era when physicians were considered almost part of the family and he never forgot how special he was to so many. He believed it was a trust and a responsibility to be taken seriously. As a young physician coming to Lodi, I learned much of the art of medicine from George. I will always have terrific memories of patients we shared and our warm friendship of over 26 years. I will miss him very much. Our prayers are with Betty and the family. Erick and Julie Albert

The year was 1976....my husband and I has just planned our first real vacation. Our daughters were 3 and 7 years old. Their first trip to Disneyland! I had gotten bronchitis the Thu before we were to leave so was on treatment. Our daughters both woke up sick on Sunday (I might add that this was a holiday weekend)....departure day was Tuesday. Dr Williams was on call for our family Dr so he offered to see us in his office. He thoroughly checked our daughters and determined they also had bronchitis. He gave us sample medicine from the office and when we asked what the office charge was...he thought for a moment then said...."no charge, spend the money at Disneyland". How thoughtful and caring that was to a young couple on a budget. My husband and I both agreed that he was a Dr first and foremost and not out for the money. Dr Williams sent us off with do's and don'ts for our first days there but we had a most wonderful trip! Thank YOU Dr Williams!! My condolences to the family and a big thank you for sharing him with the rest of us. God Bless you!!
