Obituary of Richard "Dick" Litchfield

Mr. Richard (Dick) Litchfield long time resident of Lodi and former resident of San Andreas passed away Sunday, September 24, 2006 in a Lodi hospital at the age of 88. Mr. Litchfield was born April 23, 1918 in Florence, Alabama, to Richard and Opal Litchfield. Mr. Litchfield worked as a Collision Repair Foreman for Sanborn Chevrolet, formerly Lowen Auto Co. in Lodi for many years before retiring in 1980. Soon after his retirement Richard moved to San Andreas where he owned and operated the San Andreas Mobile Home Park for 20 years before moving back to Lodi. Richard attended and graduated from Lodi High School Class of 1937. He was a member of the English Oaks Seventh-day Adventist Church and also helped with the construction of the San Andreas Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was an avid reader of the Bible and also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and golfing. He will be best remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, as well as his willingness to spread the word of God. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by a daughter Sharon Ahl and husband Dale of Lodi; 1 brother Calvin Litchfield of Elk Grove; 2 sisters, Lacia Ohlson of Palm Desert; Jean Bell of Denver, Colorado; 2 grandchildren, Brian and JeAnn Ahl of Lodi. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Edna Litchfield in 1992. A graveside service will be held Wednesday September 27, 2006, at the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday 12:00-8:00pm at the Lodi Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be sent to Three Angels Broadcasting Network, P.O. Box 220 West Frankfort, IL 62896.
