Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mr. George D. Good of Lathrop and former resident of Stockton entered into eternity to be with the Lord he loved on Thursday September 28, 2006 in his residence at the age of 65. Mr. Good was born January 9, 1941 in Norfolk, Virginia to George and Margaret Good. Mr. Good owned and operated George Good Ins. Agency in Stockton for many years before retiring in 1995. In 1996 George was humbled by God, repented his sins and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. After he gave his life over to the Lord, he became a dedicated and compassionate person and lived a joyful life exemplifying his faith. In 1999 he married the love of his life, Carole Smith, and assumed the editorship of ?The Love Express? a Christian newspaper. Using his limited income to produce the paper, he often referred to himself as the Lord?s Paperboy. The Love Express was distributed to churches, libraries, hospitals, restaurants and prisons throughout California as well as other US States. He also contributed as an Instructor and Grader for the Crossroads Prison Ministries and Correspondence Program. George saw value in every person he met. He was funny, intelligent and never fearful of sharing his faith. His humble spirit and selfless service was the outworking of his faith in Jesus Christ, Yahshua. In all his accomplishments, he did not claim goodness for himself, but gave the glory to God. He will be best remembered as a loving and outstanding husband, father, and grandfather. Also for embodying the God-Honoring life he desired his children to lead. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife Carole Good of Lathrop, 2 sons, Kevin Good of Stockton; Captain Jorge Della Santa of Livermore; 4 daughters, Jodie Sheffield and husband David of Stockton; Sally Hamlet and husband Ernie of Lodi; Gina Raum of Stockton; Kelly LaBrado of Merced; 1 sister, Genevieve Hazelton of Hayward; and 4 grandchildren, Drew and Alyson Hamlet of Lodi; Miranda Sheffield and Brandon Lake of Stockton. A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday October 4, 2006, 11:00am at the Lodi Funeral Home, followed by a private interment. Visitation will be held Tuesday 12:00-8:00pm at the Lodi Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be sent to George Good/The Love Express, C/O Service 1stBank, 2800 W. March Ln. Ste120, Stockton, CA 95219
